The Wireless Planning and Coordination (WPC) Wing of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), through Public Notice No. R-11010/02/2026-PP has extended the window for certificate withdrawal. Accordingly, the revised mandatory deadline for completing this regulatory transition is 6 July 2026.

This extension gives OEMs and importers the necessary timeframe to align their existing products with the new framework. If your equipment is capable of Wi-fi 6 GHz (5925-6425MHz) but currently holds an active ETA restricted to 2.4/5 GHz, you must complete the following steps before 06/07/2026:

  • Technical Cancellation of Existing ETA: Send a model cancellation request via email to awaitsacfa.wpc-dot@gov.in and awanr.wpc-dot@gov.in containing the old and new ETA numbers, make, and model details.
  • Fresh ETA Application: Apply a new application on the portal for a fresh ETA that comprehensively covers all operational bands, explicitly including the 5925–6425 MHz band.

Key Takeaway:

With the deadline approaching fast, avoid last-minute bottlenecks. Processing manual email cancellations alongside new portal submissions takes time, so ensure your certificates are updated and fully compliant before the July 6 deadline.
