The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers has announced temporary relaxations under the Quality Control Orders for Linear Alkyl Benzene (LAB) and Morpholine in light of ongoing global supply chain disruptions.
What has changed?
The government has temporarily suspended mandatory BIS compliance requirements for:
- Linear Alkyl Benzene (LAB) as per IS 12795 (amendment dated 30th March 2026)
- Morpholine as per IS 12084 (amendment dated 2nd April 2026)
Applicable timeline
- LAB: Effective immediately
- Morpholine: From 1st April 2026
- Both relaxations remain valid until 1st July 2026
Mandatory compliance will resume from 1st July 2026.
