The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has introduced a new online portal under the Manak Online system for Foreign Manufacturers Certification Scheme (FMCS) applications.
This portal has been introduced to make the BIS certification process more digital, faster, and easier for foreign manufacturers exporting products to India. The system will help reduce physical paperwork and improve application tracking and document management.

Implementation Timeline
- BIS will accept offline / hard copy FMCS applications only up to 31 May 2026
- From 01 June 2026 onwards, only online applications submitted through the FMCS portal will be accepted
Key Features
The portal allows manufacturers to:
- Submit applications online
- Upload documents and test reports
- Track application status
- Submit payment details digitally
The system also includes features like draft saving and application preview before final submission.
Important Note
Manufacturers are advised to ensure complete and accurate submissions, as incomplete applications, missing documents, pending payments, or delayed responses to BIS queries may lead to processing delays.
