The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has officially extended the timeline for filing Annual Returns for FY 2025-26 on the EPR Portal. This has come as a relief for businesses that were facing challenges in completing their compliance on time.
Extended timelines:
- Plastic Waste Processors (PWPs): 31 October 2026
- Producers, Importers & Brand Owners (PIBOs): 31 December 2026
What should businesses do now?
- Reconcile sales/procurement data.
- Verify recycling and EPR credit details
- Prepare and file the Annual Return within the revised timeline
- Keep supporting documents and records ready
- Complete the Annual Return well before the revised deadline
CPCB has been directed to address EPR Portal issues on priority, helping ensure a smoother filing process during the extended compliance window.
For organizations registered under Plastic EPR, this is the right time to reconcile your data, validate EPR credits, and complete the Annual Return well ahead of the revised deadline rather than waiting until the last minute.
