In response to the growing emphasis on energy security, the Ministry of Power, in consultation with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), has officially brought Domestic LPG Stoves under the mandatory regime of BEE’s Standards & Labelling (S&L) Scheme.
Important: Domestic LPG stoves already require ISI certification. Now, BEE certification is also mandatory.
Scope of Coverage
A Domestic Gas Stove under this mandate refers to appliances designed for household use with the following characteristics:
- Metallic body (with or without toughened glass top)
- One or more burners
- Injector jets
- Gas taps
- Burner pans support
- Internal piping and fittings
- Designed for use with LPG at 30 gf/cm² gas inlet pressure
What’s Excluded?
- Pressure regulators
Efficiency will be decided by the parameter named ‘Thermal efficiency’.
