This is a significant step toward strengthening security, trust, and interoperability in the Open RAN ecosystem and accelerating the adoption of secure and standards-based 5G networks.

What is O-RAN:

  • Open RAN (O-RAN) is an open, disaggregated Radio Access Network architecture that allows network components from different vendors to interoperate using standardized interfaces. 

What organizations should do now:

  • Manufacturers, OEMs, and ecosystem stakeholders are strongly encouraged to:
    1.  Review the newly released ITSAR requirements
    2.  Assess product readiness and security alignment
    3. Begin preparation proactively, ahead of the formal compliance timeline notification from NCCS 

Early preparedness will be key to ensuring smooth compliance and faster market readiness.
