A leading importer of electronic measuring instruments approached Vincular for Legal Metrology Model Approval for a non-automatic measuring instrument with electronic calculation and indication functions.
The customer already had an OIML test report issued by a laboratory in the Netherlands and wanted to explore whether the report could be accepted for Model Approval in India without undergoing fresh testing.
The Challenge
The customer needed an approval route that would avoid additional testing. However, there was no established precedent at the time for obtaining Indian Model Approval based on an OIML test report issued by a foreign laboratory.
