The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has announced that the existing Plastic Waste EPR Portal has been discontinued with effect from 28th June 2026.

The new Common EPR Portal is expected to go live during the first week of July 2026. Data of all registered entities will be migrated to the new portal. Users will be required to verify their migrated data and report any discrepancies to CPCB after the migration.

Impact on Compliance

As the existing Plastic waste portal has been discontinued and the new portal is yet to become operational, Annual Return filings for FY 2025-26 under Plastic waste cannot currently be submitted.

Filing will resume once the new portal becomes operational and the required functionalities are enabled.

What should Producers, Importers, and Brand Owners (PIBOs) do?

  • Stay updated on the portal launch
  •  Verify your migrated registration details once the new portal is live
  • Report any mismatch or missing information promptly
  • Plan your compliance activities accordingly to avoid delays

This transition marks an important step toward a unified EPR compliance ecosystem. We will continue to monitor the developments and share further updates as they become available.
