CPCB Activates Battery Labelling Submission on EPR Portal
The Department of Battery Waste Management has amended the CPCB Battery EPR Portal to include Battery Labelling provisions for the display of EPR Registration Number under the Battery Waste Management Rules, 2022. A feature to facilitate the submission of Battery Labelling details via the Battery centralised EPR Portal for Producers
The Department of Battery Waste Management has amended the CPCB Battery EPR Portal to include Battery Labelling provisions for the display of EPR Registration Number under the Battery Waste Management Rules, 2022.
A feature to facilitate the submission of Battery Labelling details via the Battery centralised EPR Portal for Producers is now available with CPCB.
Although the labelling requirement was introduced with the 2025 amendment, the facility to submit labelling information via the portal is now live. Registered Producers should henceforth proceed accordingly through their Producer account.
Producers are required to:
- Select and declare the method of labelling being followed for their batterie’s/battery packs.
- Upload images of the battery showing the implemented labelling.
- Submit a self-declaration confirming accuracy
Producers are required to ensure that the information submitted on the portal corresponds exactly with the labelling implemented on their batteries, battery packs, equipment, or packaging placed on the market. This process helps improve traceability, enables compliance with EPR regulations, and is part of CPCB’s efforts towards the digital monitoring of battery waste.
