BIS has issued Amendment No. 3 to IS 17526:2021, introducing changes to the requirements for Domestic Stainless Steel Vacuum Flasks/Bottles.
The key changes focus on the mouth of the flask/bottle, including:
• A new definition of “Mouth of Flask/Bottle” has been introduced.
• BIS has clarified the method for measuring the mouth size of the flask/bottle.
• The Product Manual (PM/IS 17526/4/September 2026) has also been revised, including updates to the Scheme of Inspection and Testing (SIT).
Implementation Deadline
The amendment must be implemented by 24 February 2027.
BIS has also clarified that no separate documentary evidence is required for the implementation of this amendment.
Manufacturers, applicants, and BIS licensees covered under IS 17526 should review their existing product specifications, measurement methods, and inspection/testing procedures to ensure they are aligned with the revised requirements before the implementation deadline.
