The Ministry of Power, Government of India, in consultation with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), has issued Notification S.O. 1738(E), dated 4th April 2026, amending the star-labelling regulation for induction hobs.
What has changed?
The mandatory star-labelling regime, which was earlier scheduled to become applicable from 1 July 2026, has been deferred by six months.
Revised applicability date: 1 January 2027
The amendment has been made to the earlier notification S.O. 5665(E), dated 8 December 2025, issued under the Energy Conservation Act, 2001.
