BEE Labelling Now Mandatory for Grid-Connected Solar Inverters from January 2026

Grid-connected solar inverters have officially moved from the voluntary to the mandatory regime under the BEE Standards & Labeling (S&L) Scheme, effective January 2026.

Products Covered Under the BEE S&L Scheme

The mandatory labelling requirement applies to:

  • Grid-connected (on-grid) solar inverters without energy storage
  • Single-phase and three-phase inverters
  • Inverters with rated output up to 100 kW
  • Products that are BIS safety certified and compliant with BEE efficiency norms

This regulatory step aims to improve energy efficiency, transparency, and informed decision-making in the renewable energy and household appliance ecosystem.
