The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) issued an advisory in June 2026 to guide manufacturers through the implementation of a new star label design for appliances.

Effective from July 1, 2026, these regulations clarify that equipment with existing valid approvals does not require fresh authorisation just to adopt the updated visual format.

Companies are permitted to transition their current products to the new aesthetic by manually integrating approved technical specifications into the revised layout.

While the agency is facilitating this smooth transition, the responsibility for accuracy and compliance on the new labels remains entirely with the manufacturers. Any deviations or misrepresentations in the data displayed will be treated as non-compliance and may result in legal action.

Ultimately, this document ensures uniform implementation of energy standards across the industry without disrupting previously granted model approvals.
